Food

Pancakes Speaking of food and the quality of service, today St. Petersburg lacks nothing that any other European city has to offer. Moreover, the prices in restaurants, cafes and snackbars are very reasonable. In our city there are great many nice places where you can have a light snack or a full lunch or maybe even spend a romantic night out. We do not intend to give you the entire list of cafes and restaurants as there are other websites doing the job. All we want to do is to give you a few good advices.

  1. During lunchbreak or straight after your classes you can have a nice meal and a cup of coffee almost next door to our School. Our teachers will be happy to show you their favourites such as La Tratoria (50 Fontanka Embankment), Green Crest (7 Vladimirsky Prospect), Ochag (2 Zagorodny Prospect), Kashtan (46 Fontanka Embankment)
  2. To fast-food lovers we recommend McDonald's and PizzaHut chains. Most of them are located in the city centre and McDonald's on the corner of Nevsky Prospect and Rubinstein Street is only a 5-minutes walk away from our School.
  3. If you are a vegetarian we can recommend you Troitsky Most (2 Malaya Posadskaya Str.) and Idiot (82 Moyka Embankment)
  4. Бар «Национальная охота» You can enjoy real Russian cuisine at Admiralteystvo (27 Bolshaya Morskaya Str.), Saint Petersburg (5 Griboyedov Canal Emb.) Senate Bar (1 Galernaya Str.) and 1913 (13 Voznesensky Prospect)
  5. Want to combine your dinner with a night out? Welcome to Natzyonalnaya Okhota Disco-Bar. Apart from that, at the very centre of the city there is Hollywood Nights Club (46 Nevsky Prospect) that is opened 24 hours a day.

If you book accommodation with our company, two meals a day will be included in your fare. Every day you will be getting breakfast and supper. Unless additional conditions are provided for by your Contract, you will be getting standard Russian breakfast that includes:

a) Porridge + sandwich + tea/coffee;
b) Eggs (boiled, fried or an omelette) + sandwich + tea/coffee;
c) Youghurt (or other dairy products) + sandwich + tea/coffee;

And your standard supper will include: A main course + salad (optional) + tea/coffee + desert.

About Food

If you are coming to study Russian with us you will almost certainly be staying with a family. In this case you won't have to worry about your breakfast and supper as they will already be included in your fare.

In a Restaurant

The custom has it in Russia that if you are inviting somebody out to a restaurant be prepared to pay the bill as the inviting party, unless agreed otherwise beforehand. It is common that, other things being equal, it is the man who has to pay the bill.

Tips

Tips are often included in the prices and amount to 3 and up to 10 per cent.
